A Scottish Piper for your perfect wedding in Scotland

The sound of the Scottish Bagpipes can help you celebrate your big day in style. They will add a stirring, romantic atmosphere and that special touch to your wedding. Pipers have been entertaining guests at weddings for centuries. As well as adding great background music to the event, a piper kitted out in full regalia turns heads at any occasion.

We have contacts with many pipers all over Scotland. Below are just a few so browse through the list to find out more about each one.

Gordon Haggerty

Gordon has been piping for over twenty years, both with pipe bands and more recently as a semi-professional solo piper. He has a small group of highland dancers, but over the past six years have performed mainly with the same two dancers, playing mostly in the Stirling / Trossachs / Loch Lomond area, but also, as a solo piper, at all the usual venues over Central Scotland and some beyond. With the dancers, Gordon can perform both short highland and country dancing demonstrations and full evening's entertainment with piping and dancing.

There are many ways to add a piper to your day. A piper can play as much or as little as you wish. Here are some ideas:

  • Welcome Guests - a wonderful welcome for your guests arriving at the church or registry office, and sets the scene for the day.
  • Pipe the Bride down the Aisle - as an alternative to an organist, why not walk down the aisle to the regal sound of the pipes.
  • Pipe the Couple out of Ceremony - continue the regal theme with the piper escorting the happy couple out of the church or ceremony.
  • During Photos - to entertain the guests and complete the proceedings. Don't forget to have your photos taken with the piper too!
  • Couple leaves for Reception - as you leave and head for the reception, have the piper play you off.
  • Welcome Guests to Reception - the piper can welcome you and your guests to your reception.
  • Pipe Newly Weds to Top Table - finish off the formalities with piping the couple to the top table at the reception meal.

This may seem alot but choose only what appeals to you.
