The Capriccio String Quartet has been performing music for wedding ceremonies (religious, civil, humanist etc.), receptions, civil partnerships and corporate functions in Scotland and elsewhere since 1985.
The string quartet has performed in a wide range of venues, both in Edinburgh (e.g. Holyrood Palace, Scottish Parliament, Royal Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh Castle, Signet Library, Norton House Hotel, Balmoral Hotel, The Assembly Rooms, Old College Library, Signet Library) and also as far afield as Greywalls Hotel, Balbirnie House Hotel, Mar Hall,Gleneagles, Turnberry, St. Andrews, Aberdeen, Aviemore, Stirling Castle, Dirleton Castle, Wedderburn Castle, Duns Castle, Cameron House Hotel and Liverpool.
The performers are all professional or semi-professional musicians. Many have worked with top Scottish orchestras, RSNO, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and other British orchestras such as the CBSO, Halle, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, and also period instrument orchestras such as Scottish Baroque Players, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment,Newcastle Baroque. They all have many years of experience playing for weddings and corporate functions as part of a string quartet, trio, duo etc.
