Obsession was formed by five musicians from a broad musical background in the Edinburgh area with the aim of creating a totally LIVE quality sound and versatile repertoire to cater for weddings, corporate functions and parties. This is just a small sample of the variety of music the band play to make your occasion a success.
Although the band perform every style of music from Swing, pop to traditional Scottish (with calling), they play to suit every individual occasion on the night.

Obsession gives you the magic of a totally live five-piece sound taking in a fantastic range of favourites, from the 50's all the way through to this weeks charts. They're five musicians with huge experience from broad musical backgrounds who love making your day special. With Karen's powerful vocals and Ian's distinctive sax you'll have their distinctive yet versatile sound to keep your guests dancing all night.
Unusually for a pop/rock covers band Obsession also play a surprising range of lively ceilidh dance music including all the popular dances such as the Gay Gordons, Dashing White Sergeant and Strip the Willow. Their professionalism and quality of musicianship really stands out and will ensure your wedding is a huge success.
Karen
(vocals) - Versatile vocalist with many years experience performing live in front of a large audience. Karen has played the world famous Cavern Club in the city of Liverpool, one of the biggest venues in the UK to showcase live bands and tribute acts.
Billy
(bass & vocals) - Touring for many years, playing concerts with leading artists such as Chris De Burgh whilst recording on the A&M record label.
Clive
(keyboards) - Classically trained with experience from a young age playing with bands in the London and Edinburgh areas.
Ian
- Experienced as a lead instrumentalist spanning concert bands to the jazz and club scene.
Neil
(drums) - Has toured in UK and Europe with a wide range of artists from Evelyn Glennie and Dave Heath, Ballet Rambert, Bob Rockwell and Gerry Richardson.

'With so much to plan and organise for a wedding it was a pleasure to work with Obsession. On the day itself, they arrived and set themselves up so quickly and quietly that we hardly even noticed until the music sounded. Even though our choice of song for the first dance was not in their repertoire, they still accommodated our wishes. Lively from the start, their selection and timing of songs went down famously and all the way to the end they maintained an incredibly high professional standard, engaging with our guests throughout their performance and where and when required tutored/guided the guests (mainly Irish not knowing the steps) through the dance routine required (Gay Gordons for example). Their decision to use 'Auld Lang Syne' for the last song was superb, if not unexpected, as it brought all guests together linking arms in a circle which, looking back on the day/night is one of the lasting enduring highlight moments of the wedding.
