Iain Melvin
Piper
Iain started to learn the bagpipes at the age of nine through his local Boys Brigade company, and is now the Piper Major of the second competing band within the Williamwood Pipe Band.
He's been tutoring people of all ages and abilities since 1995. Alongside tutoring, he competes, helps manage both the second competing band and other elements of the band as a whole, travels and performs at various events.
Apart from playing with the Williamwood Pipe Band, Iain spends alot of time entertaining at weddings, private and commercial functions and many other Celtic functions, both in Scotland and abroad.
Since 1997 Iain's piping has taken him around Europe, parts of America and even into Asia. His performances range from solo to playing with Samba Drummers and big bands. He's tutored throughout the UK and in Dublin, Denmark, Spain, Turkey, Chicago, NewYork, Washington and North Carolina.
As well as piping and running a business, Iain is studying for a BA in Business and Management and is in his degree year.
