Grant Milne - B. Mus

Piper

Grant is a very skilled and talented piper who began playing at the age of nine in Maryburgh, Ross-shire, under the instruction of ex Queen's Own Highlanders piper Hugh Chisholm. His natural aptitude soon saw him in the Black Isle Junior Pipe Band under Andrew Ventars where he gained valuable experience before being invited at thirteen to join a senior band, the Dingwall Royal British Legion, which introduced him to the rigors competition piping.

Sponsorship opportunities led to Grant joining the newly formed Beauly Firth & Glens Pipe Band at the same time as he passed his HNC in traditional music which qualified him for the Scottish Music course at the RSAMD (Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Dance) in Glasgow.

Grant is currently in his second year of full time study at RSAMD and now plays in the 52nd Lowland Regt. Pipe Band under P/Maj. Gordon Walker. He is also finding himself in great demand for solo piping engagements including weddings, private parties and corporate events as well as playing in the ceilidh band Ceilidh Dana. With his fine piping and outgoing personality Grant can certainly look forward to a bright career in music.
