Piper
Gordon has been piping for over twenty years, both with pipe bands and more recently as a semi-professional solo piper. He has a small group of highland dancers, but over the past six years have performed mainly with the same two dancers, playing mostly in the Stirling / Trossachs / Loch Lomond area, but also, as a solo piper, at all the usual venues over Central Scotland and some beyond. With the dancers, Gordon can perform both short highland and country dancing demonstrations and full evening s entertainment with piping and dancing.
Gordon is the resident piper for the Buchanan Arms Hotel in Drymen and plays there regularly, sometimes with the girls, throughout the year. During his time there and at other venues he has played for quite a number of VIPs including Dick Advocat and the Dutch Football Association, Scottish Rugby Federation, Colin Montgomery, The Duke of Argyle, Gordon Brown M.P. and David Murray, owner of Glasgow Rangers Football Club, to name a few. Gordon has also worked for Sky Television's 'Fight Night' (boxing) in Edinburgh.
Gordon plays a wide variety of traditional pipe tunes to cover any event and has an extensive choice of uniforms, including Kilts - Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders (green), Loch Lomond Argyle (blue), Ancient Caledonian (red) and Black (dress). To compliment these kilts they can be worn as Dress No1 (with dress plaid and Glengarry), Argyle, (black jacket), Prince Charlie or Day wear (tweed jacket).
