Diversimode
'Diversimode' which translates as 'in various ways', reflects the wide variety of music this group aims to bring to our audience. Diversimode is a baroque chamber ensemble whose interests range from 17th and 18th century music for trumpet, soprano and continuo, to the exciting possibilities of baroque music with folk influences.
Ceridwen Heaney graduated with an MMus in music performance from the RSAMD, where she studied baroque trumpet and cornetto, winning the British Reserve Prize for Early Music 2000. She has performed with many prestigious ensembles throughout the UK, including the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Wallace Collection, the Scottish Consort of Trumpets, Ludus Baroque and the Dunedin Consort.
Louise Eekelaar has sung for many years in choirs, small ensembles and as a soloist. She specialised in baroque music at the University of York, where she gained an MA in performance practice. Louise has toured various European countries with Sinfonye in their Hildegard of Bingen programme, and also took part in their CD recording of Hildegard s complete works for the Celestial Harmonies label. She is a member of the Yorkshire Bach Choir, Ebor Singers and Cantus and is a co-founder of the vocal trio, Thre. Louise is currently involved in a BBC project on Vivaldi, to be recorded in the Pieta in Venice.
Catherine Strachan studied baroque cello with Alison McGilivray at the RSAMD and went on to graduate with an MA in baroque performance practice from the University of York. She has worked with various period instrument ensembles, such as La Serenissima, Ludus Baroque, The Eighteenth Century Concert Orchestra and Yorkshire Baroque soloists. Catherine also performs in the Britten-Pears Baroque Orchestra and recently was awarded a bursary to attend the Dartington International Summer School baroque orchestra course.
Allan Wright is in the final year of his Bachelor of Music degree at Glasgow University where he studies harpsichord with David McGuinness. Following graduation he intends to proceed to postgraduate study in aspects of early keyboard tablature for the organ. Allan is co-ordinator of the Music Club association at the University, providing concerts and recitals throughout the term. He performs regularly in the Central Scotland region, and is organist at Glenburn Parish Church in Paisley.
