Jazz Duo
Jane Marie and Graham come from rich and diverse musical backgrounds. Whilst Graham was gigging in a variety of bands playing blues, soul, jazz or funk throughout the past two decades,in bands of all shapes and sizes, Jane Marie spent the same period honing her natural vocal skills at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Dance. As a young graduate she joined the chorus of the Scottish Opera. A tenure that lasted 22 years!
After a chance meeting, a partnership blossomed into a marriage of hearts and souls. Graham retired his production company writing music for TV and moved north.
Sweet and Lowdown emerged as an expression of our mutual love for these beautiful songs. Expressed with an intimacy and warmth that we share between us and hopefully with you, the listener. Blending the sound of a 1930's style French jazz guitar, with Jane Marie's command of lyrical expression and nuance, the result is unique and personal.
