Jennifer Port

Jennifer's performances include playing at the weddings of Madonna and Guy Ritchie, and Travis guitarist Andy Dunlop to Jo Monaghan. She regularly plays for leading Parliamentary figures and have played for the Princess Royal, the Duke of York and Prince Edward on separate occasions. Other celebrities include: Donald Trump, Gywneth Paltrow, Sting, Donatella Versace, Stella McCartney, Trudie Styler, Dame Maggie Smith, Rupert Everett and Fran Healy. Jennifer was an ambassador for VisitScotland promoting their 'Romantic Scotland' campaign.
Jennifer hails from the village of Golspie in Sutherland. She has been interested in music all her life and began learning piano at the age of 8. Since then, she has learned oboe, guitar, clarsach, cor anglais and singing. She started learning clarsach at school and joined the Clarsach Society, attended tuition weekends and festivals alongside weekly lessons from Vicki Horton. Jennifer enjoyed participating in various Feisean throughout Scotland and successfully competed in the National Mod for a number of years. In January 2002, Jennifer won a Danny Kyle award at Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow.
Jennifer graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama with a BA(Scottish Music)Honours in July 2003 having studied clarsach, singing and composition and is now a full time freelance musician.
